Crock Pot Nonsense

I just had to share this awesome chicken and dumplings recipe because it has made me a believer in crock pots. Until now, I have hated every food/meal that has ever come from a crock pot. Probably because I don't like stews or roasts or cocktail weenies and that is all that seems to come my way from a crock pot.

*Modifications to recipe: I used 6 biscuits because I love dumplings. And then I cooked the remaining biscuits and ate them with the dish. I also added a huge amount of pepper and I used boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts because they have more flavor (are are also so much cheaper).

We Still Got It...

Don't you just love the baby toys in the background? Probably the biggest change in my house since my previous pics from 2008.

I couldn't live without my girlfriends - especially these two. They keep me sane while letting me be just a little inappropriate and offensive :)

Reunited and It Feels So Good...

BTW, you may be asking yourselves what we were doing in these photos - modeling. At least, attempting the starved concave pose that models do. Hello again 2008 :)

*Side note - this is OUR house - just a lot uglier. Check out those hideous cabinets, the dirty linoleum, and the carpet that was once whitish and became gray. Lovely.

Wanna Bet?!

I have a confession - I am obsessed with taking small chances, i.e. entering giveaways, gambling (small amounts at a time, like a quarter. I'm no Noah Howard (who isn't even thinking about ever reading this blog)), and scratch tickets. It's not like I have a serious problem with not being able to control myself from spending thousands of dollars. I just like to spend a little. You know - like responsible gambling. So why do I NEVER win? I am seriously cursed. I have been to Vegas at least five times and I have came home in the hole. Every. Single. Time. Never have I won things like radio contests, raffles, and what pisses me off the most these days - blog giveaways. I am constantly 'liking' pages and commenting on products I enjoy and then I wait..... and nothing.


Maybe this is God's way of evening out my life. I am so incredibly blessed in many ways with my family and husband and such, so perhaps God decided to make me the unlucky lady. If anyone wants to draft off my bad luck, just invite me up to Blackhawk and buy my drinks all night. Then you can hop on the slots after me and collect jackpots.
